Swachh Bharat Mission

 

Swachhata  Abhiyan 15 September-02 October 2017 

 

Swachhta Sapath taking ceremny was held in Almora and Hawalbagh campuses of ICAR-VPKAS, Almora on 15.09.2017.  All employees of the institute cleaned the premises of chemistry lab, microbiology lab, generator room, guest house in Almora campus.

Under Swachh Bharat Mission on 16.09.2017, all scientists and staff at Experimental farm ICAR-VPKAS performed cleaning work in lab area and experimental field area. In this cleanliness drive plants of parthenium weed were also uprooted and disposed-off.

On 17.09.2017,  all the employees of the ICAR-VPKAS at its Almora and Hawalbagh campus gathered and did cleaned offices and office premises. In Almora stores section, audit section biotech lab administration-I offices were cleaned then outer area of office was also cleaned. At Hawalbagh laboratories, premises of Bosi Sen building and workshop area was cleaned.

On 18.09.2017, A team of scientists visited different laboratories in ICAR-VPKAS, Almora and Hawalbagh for evaluating laboratories on the basis of cleanliness, labeling of laboratory articles, proper arrangement and work pressure. The team visited the Biotechnology Lab and Soil & Microbiology Lab in Almora; and Entomology Lab, Plant Pathology Lab, Soil Science Lab, Agronomy Lab, Quality Lab, Physiology Lab and Mushroom Lab at Experimental Farm Hawalbagh.

 

A cleanliness awareness programme and Institute visit was organized for Government Inter-college, Hawalbagh students on 19.09.2017 under the Swachhta Abhiyan at ICAR-Vivekananda Parvatiya Krishi Anusandhan Sansthan, Experimental Farm Hawalbagh. A group of 44 students (XIth Standard, Art faculty) participated in the program. Out of total 44 students there were 35 girl students. In this programme stuidents were welcomed and were shown institute’s documentary film, briefed about the cleanliness awareness program, importance of cleanliness in surroundings. A discussion was done on how students can contribute for making their surrounding clean.

The importance of cleanliness was emphasized by Dr. G.V. Chaudhari, related short videos were shown to the students. He also requested for disseminating the cleanliness awareness to other people as well for making India clean. Students were then taken to the institute museum as well as experimental fields to make them acquainted with the institute’s research activities. Mr. J.P. Gupta, explained the Apiary and Meteorological observatory to the students. Dr. Nirmal Chandra, Nodal officer (Swachata Abhiyan) ICAR-VPKAS also interacted with students and dicussed on Swachhat Abhiyan.

On 20.09.2017 at ICAR-VPKAS, Experimental Farm, Hawalbagh all the scientists and other staff members of the institute participated in cleaning of Mallahatta, Chhalar, Line State and residential area. Garbage in surrounding area and roads was collected and parthenium weed was destroyed.

 

On 21.09.2017, Scientists and other staff of ICAR-VPKAS, Almora participated in cleanliness work at residential area.

 

On 22.09.2017, Swachhta competition was organised among the various sections of the institute. This included sections of administration, accounts,  stores, PME and AKMU.

 

A cleanliness program was organised on 23rd September 2017 at ICAR-Vivekananda Parvatiya Krishi Anusandhan Sansthan, Almora in nearby public places. Scientists and other staff members of the institute took part in cleaning of garbage in surrounding public area. Garbage and roads were cleaned.

 

 

Swachhata  Pakhwara 16-31 May 2017 

            Swachhata Pakhwara was organized during 16-31 May 2017 at ICAR-VPKAS, Almora, KVK Bageshwar and KVK Chinyalisaur. Programme started with oath taking by all the staff of institute on 16 May, 2017. During the period various Swachhata related activities were conducted in the institute.

            A Swachahta awareness program was organized for the students of Government Inter College, Hawalbagh on 20.05.2017 at ICAR-Vivekananda Parvatiya Krishi Anusandhan Sansthan, Field Laboratory Hawalbagh. A short video film was shown to the students on Cleanliness – to be initiated from our self to realize them that each and every citizen of India is responsible for making India clean. They were taken to field visit to show the crops, apiary, agro-meteorology laboratory, and entomology laboratory. A short video was shown to them on why students are important for this cleanliness drive and how they can participate and involve themselves in this campaign to make clean India.

            Various labs and offices were evaluated by a team of scientists on various Swachhata parameters based on which rank were decided.  A Swachata gosthi was organized on 26 May, 2017 under the chairmanship of Director Dr A. Pattanayak. All the scientists and staff members did cleaning work near official and residential complex of ICAR-VPKAS and KVKs on various occasions.
